Alone with God

This past week as we all have been snowed in, I have had plenty of time to think about what to write about next. I am so happy that so many have tuned in to see what my next topic will be about!

Thanks for reading! I really appreciate it!

Since I have had all this time, my mind has been everywhere from new websites I'd like to share, to the most interesting person of the week, to my weekly devotionals. All are sure to come! :)

Today's subject: His solitude with Us.

When God gets us alone through suffering, heartbreak, temptation, disappointment, sickness, or by desires, a broken friendship, or a new friendship, - when He gets us absolutely alone, and we are totally speechless, able to ask even one question, then He begins to teach us.

As you journey with God, the only thing He intends to be clear is the way He deals with your soul. The sorrows and difficulties in the lives of others will be absolutely confusing to you. We think we understand another person's struggle until God reveals the same shortcomings in our lives. There are vast areas of stubbornness and ignorance the Holy Spirit has to reveal in each of us, but it can only be done when Jesus gets us alone.
Are we alone with him now? Or are we more concerned with our own ideas, friendships, and cares for our bodies? Jesus cannot teach us anything until we quiet all our intellectual questions and get alone with Him.

My challenge to you. Pray.

Pray when you wake up.
Pray when you get in the car.
Pray when you get to work or school.
Pray in the classroom.
Pray when you eat.
Pray when you're driving.
Pray when you get home.

Pray.

Because there can never be enough prayer.

Style Stealer

I find it hilarious when people make a big deal out of how a celebrity accidentally/intentionally wears the same outfit as another celebrity. Personally, I think they should give them a break. There are only so many designers out there! After all, they are ordinary people just like us. Add a little Botox, personal stylists, and a million dollar closet and
BAM! You have your everyday gal!

Who doesn’t love “Who wore it better” polls!?
I am seriously in love with this concept. Here are my choices!

I have to go with Carrie! She is so elegant! Not too much cleavage, and her shoes are a plus!!

Maybe it's the paler skin but Eva has it!

Sorry Nicki, but this H&M Peacock dress looks fabulous on Katy!
Such pretty colors!

Jessica's boots seal the deal!
Such a neatly designed dress!

Audrina Patridge, you are gorgeous!
I love the shoes!

Hands down, Miley wears Marchesa's black and
gold sequin dress marvelously!

Jay Manuel knows what top model material is with his
oh-so-in bow tie!

Fact: Lo Bosworth looks great in anything she wears!
Such a cute dress!

Doesn't a Kardashian always win?

Zooey Deschanel definitely wears this dress better! Too cute!

Coincidence that one celebrity wears the same outfit
as another celebrity? I'll leave that up to you!

One Step at A Time

From wedding dresses, Christmas lists, Valentine’s Day ideas and bikini shopping, I have had a lot of random things on my mind lately. I swear that I am so ADD, I have officially diagnosed myself!

Christmas break has been fun but, even though I always complain during the semester of having so much homework and stuff to do, I am ready for school to start back.

It all means one step closer to finishing the semester,

one step closer to getting my RN,

one step closer to getting married,

one step closer to....

You guessed it! Children!! :)

I absolutely cannot wait! I have always dreamed of having girls but I have discovered my fondness of little boy’s clothing. When I was little, my Mom dressed me up all of the time and I loved every second of it! She had a bow in my hair to coordinate with every outfit and I never seemed to care! As I got older, I wanted to play basketball but I was never as tom-boyish as my little sister is.

When I grew up, people didn’t dress their kids up in Vineyard Vines or Lilly Pulitzer yet.

We had Kelly’s Kids. Everything monogrammed. Smock gowns and over-sized hair bows and I was good to go!

I know that my kids will look so adorable in their Lilly and VV but, like it or not, I will take advantage of the time that I can squeeze in all of their monogrammed dresses, bloomers, and head attire while they are young enough to let me.

I Do, In Style ;)

Even though I'm not getting married next week, I cannot
help my obession of googling the cutest little houses in the
neighborhood for sale, checking salaries for RN jobs within
the next year in Huntsville, and yes. Wedding dress shopping.
Very. Addicting.
Until I started looking at every magazine that exists on weddings,
I only figured there were a few types of materials and designs to chose from.
BOY was I wrong! One can only dream of the perfect dress. I don't mind
David's Bridal. Although having nothing wrong with it, it just seems like the
"average" Honda to the BMW. We're talking, Vera Wang. A.k.a. the QUEEN
of wedding fashion, has captured my eye everywhere and has captivated me
into only wishing for one of her most elegant pieces! As a little girl, I always
loved the sleek and flowy dresses rather than a "Cinderella" ballroom
gown that stuck out twenty feet on each side. Even though we're not
engaged yet, I cannot help but be drawn to the epic decision of what dress
I will wear. I mean, it is the BIG DAY! Everyone that I cherish most
will be there and I have one chance to get it right. No pressure or anything.
All eyes are on the bride as she marches in, so needless to say.
I'm only a little stressed :)
So, in early pre-preparation, I wanted to share with you my season's favorites
of Vera Wang. Everyone has their style from strapless to one shoulder, halter or
V back, bow or no bow, white, red, cream, black.... To each is own!
I have never said "Oh my God" and "Holy Crap" so many
times in 30 minutes looking at Vera's website.
They. are. to. die. for.

Happy Holidays!

I can’t help but wonder what everyone’s traditions and customs are as the holidays roll along. Thanksgiving was filled with lots of food and family. Christmas was none-the-less one of the many reasons that it is The Most Wonderful Time of the Year! It seems everyone is stuck on what they want for Christmas and receiving that perfect gift, but I have been thinking and have come up with my “Rest of the Year List” (post-Christmas)
Enjoy!

Can't Be Tamed to Speak Now

I can't decide who I like better. Both Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift are good role models for any age girl in the world. Miley has Hannah Montana and also starred in The Last Song. Taylor's new album, Speak Now, sold millions within the first week! Most celebrities would be against each other competitively but Taylor and Miley have a cute friendship! Both are beautiful and God has richly blessed them!

Far From Ordinary

Ordinary? No, I really don't think so.
Not a love this true.
Common destiny, we were meant to be, me and you.
Like a perfect scene from a movie screen,
We're a dream come true.
Suited perfectly, for eternity, me and you.

Everyday, well I need you even more,
And the nighttime too.
There's no way, I could ever let you go.
Even if I wanted to.

Everyday I live, try my best to give,
All I have to you.
Thank the stars above, that we share this love, me and you

Everyday, well I need you even more,
And the nighttime too.
There's no way, I could ever let you go.
Even if I wanted to.

Ordinary? No, I really don't think so.
Just a precious few
Ever make it last, are as lucky as
me and you.
