Feb-tastic!

I AM BEYOND READY FOR SUMMER!
With this beautiful weather we've been having, hopefully there won't be many more days of cold weather! Needless to say, I have enjoyed this sneak peek of summer!
Windows down, sunroof open, and music up, loud!

What's playing in my car, pre-summer?

What's My Name - Rihanna feat. Drake

Never Say Never - Justin Beiber (of course)

Grenade - Bruno Mars

Somewhere With You - Kenny Chesney

Teenage Dream - Boyce Avenue

Dog Days Are Over - Florence & The Machine

Firework - Katy Perry

I love all kinds of music, as you can tell.
Playlists are my iPod's best friend.
You can pretty much never know what I'm going to be listening to in my car. My playlists are: country, soul, workout, hip hop, Taylor Swift and Lil Wayne. That pretty much covers it. Anything from Ke$ha to Michael Buble or Beiber to Miranda Lambert.
I like that I am very versatile. It's fun to be put in all different kinds of moods when I get in my car. I love driving for a long time by myself and singing, LOUD. I usually don't even care who sees me driving beside me either! So, if you see me seeing in my car, you'll know that it's one of my favorite things to do! :)

Grammy's Special

I'm not going to waste my time on worst dressed because everyone knows there were plenty worst dressed nominees. However, I had a great time watching the Grammy's even though every time you blinked Lady A was winning another award for Need You Now. Let the song die, please. All in all, I can't choose what they do or wear, only critique it ;)
I LOVE Award shows! Here's the Grammy breakdown.
Everything aside, I LOVE Snooki! She is perfectly dressed for the occasion.

J. Lo killed it! This is exactly what you wear to the Grammy's.

An egg GaGa? Really? And your dancers have on used condoms?
I would not say artistic. Just more GaGa.

Justin Bieber looked good in Dolce and Gabbana. Just sayin’.

Who the heck is Esperanza Spalding? Even though she has collaborated with Prince and has played for President Obama twice, I still have never heard of this jazz player.
My favorite part. John Mayer, Norah Jones and Keith Urban
singing Jolene. It. Was. Beautiful.

Rihanna and Drake were steaming it up!
I’m predicting it to be called Dranna.

Then There Were Two

I was sitting in the doctor’s office yesterday waiting to get my weekly allergy shot, waiting very impatiently. I’ll admit, I don’t have an ounce of patience. That morning, I took Bryant to the doctor and waited an hour. We NEVER wait at our Pediatrician’s office. Needless to say, I wasn’t in the greatest mood by the time I got to the second doctor of the day. I never have to wait over ten minutes to get my allergy shots because of the convenient time that I go around lunch time and Huntsville rush hours. I signed in, and I was glad to see that I was the only one there waiting. It was about 1:30 and although it seemed as if half the nurses were at lunch, there was no sign, or hours posted for their lunch time. I waited for 45 minutes on apparently, the nurses to get back from lunch. During that 45 minutes however, I had an epiphany.

Bryant was playing with toys beside me and calling my name every sixty seconds, “Kayla, look at this!” “Kayla, what is this?” “Kayla, check this out!”
I had noticed them when I walked in but just now paid any attention to the older couple sitting across from me. They appeared to be in their late 60s or early 70s.

Then I noticed what they were reading.

He was reading a thick hard cover book titled, Grunts. Under it, all that I caught a glimpse of was World War II. She, on the other hand, was reading a paperback book titled, God & football. This made me crack a smile. I hoped that I wasn’t staring too long at them for them to notice. Their titles made me think of something very broad in such a short amount of time. World War II may have been around the time this man had been born. Did his father serve during WWII? This topic could have interested him but also could have affected his life in some way or another. This also made me realize, you would most likely never see a younger person reading a book about this heavy topic.

As for the lady, her book amused me. Two of my favorite things. God and football. Yet, non-comparatively. This woman was almost a fast forward into my future. Any of my friends could tell you how much I love football! It is a major part of my entertainment. Isn’t it amazing how far women have come? Women started out with not a single right. Now, we can sit anywhere we would like and read “boy” things like football books. I am so glad society has changed for us for the better!

I had no idea who these people were or what they were like. I don’t know if this man has a special connection in his heart to WWII. I don’t know if this woman was religious or whether she even liked football that much. This couple had no idea they would be analyzed in my blog. I just sat down across from them with my Glamour magazine and an open mind and gained more than I realized I would.

I was in a great mood the rest of the day.

Never Say Never

I have had a lot of things on my mind to blog about and instead of choosing just one, I figured I would share them all at once!

I am starting Zumba and staying committed to my workout regime
I wouldn’t wanna be Christina Aguilera right now
I officially turned in my Nursing program application

I am pretty glad that I’m not in Egypt in the mass of hysteria

I officially hate English 102 and I can’t wait for that teacher to have her baby already

Scottsboro, Al really isn’t that bad

I AM going to watch the Justin Beiber movie but I do NOT have Beiber Fever.
I have always loved Walt Whitman and I found out today that he liked to be naked and thought that every living thing was as equal to every non-living thing. Needless to say, he was different.
I really despise politics.

My career and future job are right around the corner
I haven’t been this glad until now that I stayed home for college

I have picked back up my long lost scrapbooking hobby

I am still searching for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift

I have new obsessions: Pretty Little Liars and Off the Map

Whew.

Xoxo

After my long weekend in Tuscaloosa with my best friend, Maghen Olivia and my favorite person, Tysce Green, I have much to catch up on. We went to the basketball game and told LSU to “Geaux home!”. My first Lakeside experience with Maghen ended up being delicious and we also ran into the lovely Sarah Ann Hoge! It was a great weekend with the greatest people, none the less. I have to start writing my English paper that’s due in eight days and I need to be reading my New Testament religion book. But you know what?

I’d rather blog.

Not only does this week’s Celeb of the Week star on one of my favorite television shows, Gossip Girl, she also has a new leading role in The Roomate.
Leighton Marissa Claire Meester is a very hot, glam, successful actress born April 9, 1986 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Although you may know her from GG, her first acting role on a tv program was on NBC's Law & Order in 1999. Leighton has also appeared in shows like Surface, Entourage, CSI: Miami, 8 Simple Rules, 24, 7th Heaven, and House. She moved with her family to New York City and soon after began working as a model with Wilhelmina, booking a Ralph Lauren campaign shot! Out of everything, of course, her character Blair Waldorf has definitely been her spectacular rise to stardom. She has even stated in interviews that she identifies with Blair "on every level, in one way or another."

I bet you didn't know that:
  • She currently resides in New York.
  • Has an older brother, Douglas Meester and a younger brother named Lex.
  • She enjoys singing, and even sang in the movie "Drive Thru".
  • She is naturally blonde but dyed her hair brown for the role of Blair Waldorf in "Gossip Girl". Stay brunette, Leighton.
  • Named one of People Magazines' 100 Most Beautiful in 2008.
  • Ranked #48 on the Maxim magazine Hot 100 of 2008 list.
  • Attended Beverly Hills High School in Beverly Hills, California. Very Blair-like.
  • Named Celeb of the Week by Kayla Kennamer!

Don’t miss Gossip Girl tonight at 8 on the CW!!!

Living by Faith

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11;1

Your faith will be tried.
We are all different and we will be tried in many different ways and at different points in our lives. You have to hold steadfast to God’s word.
Why would God give us faith if we did not need it? He knows that we will be tried and we all will need it in some way or another, Life will get dark and you could walk down the wrong path and lose your way. I know that I have!

We are not promised that all of our day will be happy and trouble free. He gives us the power of faith for the tribulations that he foresees we will all go through. He knows everything we will do before we do it. Our blessings can be trials of faith, also. Riches are blessings of prosperity and can be very beneficial in life to everyone. But what if we get so wrapped up in this world we live in that we lose our way? We will lose our faith if we become accustomed to worldly things. We will all face affliction and have many burdens, some more than others. All children of God will have to face things that they had rather not. Some of us just have worse burdens or afflictions. That’s why it’s so important to keep your faith.

Pray.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”
Romans 10:17

Double Trouble

If you can’t already tell, I am beyond ready for the rest of my life. Talking about my future on my blog makes me very excited for everything God has in store for me. Getting my RN and getting a really good job in Huntsville, hopefully! And yes, getting married and having kids! Trust me, I will be extremely thankful for God granting me the wonderful pleasure of having kids. I want at least one of each, boy and girl. Although little boys are cute, I hope and pray that my first little one is precious little girl! Good gracious, are we in for it, Tysce Leverl.

If he is anything like Tysce, we are in for a ride!

We will have such a problem with those terrible terrible twos.
We will have to buy stock in Band-Aid.
His Papaw will teach him how to use a sling shot to break Mommy’s flower pots when he is 3.
He will go to his grandparents’ houses and come back spoiled rotten.
He will wear Vineyard Vines and Polo Ralph Lauren everyday to school.
He will have the best baseball glove and play catch with his Daddy until he is sick of it.
He’ll also come home everyday with mud stained khakis.
He will go to Kindergarten and cry for his Mommy!
He will be in a tree stand, with all of his Under Armour apparel, by the age of 5 if not before.
He’ll be very athletic and play point guard in basketball.
He will be very competitive.
He will hate shopping but never complain.
He will be so tiny but then hit a growth spurt when he hits his teens.
He will break every girl’s heart that he comes across until he finds the one to spend forever with!

If she is anything like me, we’re in for it.

Her “terrible’s” will be terrible three’s, instead of two’s.
She will sing really loud in church without even knowing the words. Just a solid tune.
She will have every Barbie doll and accessory known to Barbie World, but Mommy will probably have more fun with them than she will!
She will have a coordinating hair bow for all of her name brand outfits.
She will be hospitalized for every little reason imaginable.
She will be extremely tiny but the fastest one on the softball team.
She will have a feisty attitude.
She will go to Kindergarten and tell Mommy “There’s no crying in Kindergarten, Mom”.
She’ll teach herself how to ride a bike.
She will cut her hair at school by the first grade.
She will have two scars from surgical wounds by the time she’s six.
She will chase all of the boys on the playground, but never fall down because she won’t like mud.
She will be the shortest in her class for well, ever
She will get her heart broken and I will comfort her.
She will become a teenager and think I’m stupid and it will break my heart.
Then, I’ll call my Mom and apologize for everything, again
.
