Thankful

Why do we hurt the people we love the most, the most?
That has been on my mind a lot lately..
There is one person in this world that can make me happy, make me smile,
make me cry and drive me crazy all in one day and I still love him more than anything. Mostly it is, me driving him crazy. He takes care of me.

He provides for me when he shouldn't. He is the funniest person I know. He knows me better than anyone in the world. And I love that.

He is the greatest person and I don’t deserve him.

He will never be able to understand how much I love him. Even if he could slightly even get a glimpse of how deep my love is for him, he still wouldn’t understand. I have made many mistakes and time and time again he forgives me and sometimes I wonder why. Why me? What do I do that makes him love me as much as I love him? Why me, forever? He could have any girl and pass me up, but after almost 3 years, he still has faith in us. But why?

It’s like staring at the moon and staring really hard and still not being able to comprehend what it looks like and how big it is.

That’s how much I love him.

It’s like being in the middle of the ocean and as far as you can see is just water and still not being able to comprehend how big the ocean is. You just can’t no matter how hard you try.
I feel like my blogs are best when I am the most emotional.. When I
have to stop typing to wipe the tears off of my face, I realize how deeply in love with him I am.

That’s how it is,
and I still can’t comprehend it.

Happy Friday!

After a long work week, all I wanted to do was crawl
on the couch with a movie and a bowl of ice cream.
And I did.

Anyways, I found out this cool new way of seeing
exactly who looks at my blog. If the person doesn't have
a blogger account and just views my blog, I can
see from what city and state they're in.
And let me tell you,
I was shocked!
I am so So SO grateful for everyone viewing and
reading, you have no idea! I am so glad that
people are interested in reading what I have to tell the world! People are reading This Is My Now from Opelika, Alabama all the way to Charlotte, North Carolina!! Even if only once,
THANK YOU!!

Also, I have some new pieces to add to my art collection
and I am going to share them with you soon so please
stop by again soon! You might want one of
them for your house! :) Thank you!

A Word to the Wise

Life is not about the number of friends you have on Facebook,
the amount of money you have in your closet, or the way
you try to act cool.
It's about falling in love, humility, being nice to everyone,
having opinions but knowing when to give them, doing your best at whatever you do, being a friend to someone regardless of how they may treat you or how selfish they may act at times, living life to the fullest, and most importantly, wearing your heart on your sleeve.

I have been in the best relationship for ALMOST 3 Years!
He is the sweetest and most sincere boyfriend I could ask for.
He is too good to me and I don't deserve him.
He accepts my faults and weaknesses and supports me
even when he knows that I am wrong. THAT is a best friend!

A best friend will stand beside you through anything and
will be there for you no matter what. Sometimes I wonder
if any of the people that I associated myself with in high school
would have my back no matter what. I know that you learn who
people truly are once you graduate and enter the real world.
People change like crazy! It doesn't matter how good you are to them, if they are not a true friend, they will talk about you as soon as you take your next breath. Sad, isn't it?

Do your best and be your best because that's what life is
all about in the end. People are going to remember you for that
door you open and wait on them with, the smile on your face, your positive attitude and even your last piece of gum you give away.

I'm not a college professor and I definitely do not have a degree in psychology. But I have been through high school and I have seen the difference that takes place in people. So don't do something just because it looks cool and it gets you the most friends or the most attention. What is right is
not always popular, and what is popular is not always right.

Cutesy Crafts

Okay, okay. I know it's been a while but I have had
so much to do between work and well, work. To be honest,
I haven't had time for much of anything else and I only
work at a cafe from 10 to 3.
Anyway, my mom and I started buying letters about 2 years ago
from Hobby Lobby and glueing scrapbook paper to them for
gifts and what-not. It is SO cute! You can use any pattern and
color the sides of the letter to match. Recently I have started
painting the letters along with "papering" them just to spice
it up a little. I have a few pictures of my latest crafty ideas and I
wanted to share them with you guys so if you have any interest
in them, you can email me and I can make anything you'd like!

Painted/scrapbook letters are $6 a piece or if there's 3 or more
(like a name) it's $4 a piece! I also paint crosses and picture frames!
If you have a new idea you'd like me to try, feel free to ask!!
It will take me around 2 days to get your
order back to you! The letters are not that expensive but
it does take me about an hour to paint a letter!
I'm a perfectionist!
Please email me or call me with your order! I'd love
to paint something for your child or you! :)
I am also in the process of finding the really big letters
that go outside on your porch/door. I'll let you guys
know as soon as I do find them! Thank you!!

Time

It’s time.
It’s time to grow up and accept responsibility for your actions.

For many teenagers, this statement is hard to handle.
It’s time to clear the drama.
Time to leave some behind that weren’t really there for you to begin with..
But most importantly, time to have fun!

For me, it hasn’t been the easiest thing in the world to accept responsibility and accept growing up, but in all honesty, I do want to be recognized as a woman. I’ve had tons of fun as a teenager and being in high school/college has been the best experience a kid could ask for. But that’s just it. A KID could ask for.

While we’re being honest, I’m almost 100% sure that I will be the first one out of my group of friends to get married. And the first to graduate college and get a job. Thank God for dual enrollment. I want to get married early. I want it to just be me and Tysce for a while and then I want to be around 24 or 25 when I start having kids.

You may say that I just have everything all planned out.. And I kinda sort of do.

One People

To be honest, I never thought I would be writing this blog. Had you told me last Tuesday while I was sitting in the Veranda with 6 other lovely ladies that we were going to have a wide spread of devastation from 178 tornadoes across our beloved south, I would not have believed you.

As soon Thursday rolled around and we got word of all of the devastation close to our area, my heart was heavy for all the people across the southern states, especially in Sweet Home Alabama. I never knew then that it was as bad as it was until Sunday. Until Sunday, I just kept feeling like I wanted to get out of the house and help. Just help. Anyone.
Finally after 4 days in the house without power, we went to church. I was blessed to go to Higdon, Alabama Sunday afternoon to Higdon Baptist Church. We took them around 75 plates of food from Section Church of God. When we arrived in Higdon, there were a ton of trees down on the main road. I only thought this was it. I hopped in the back of one of two trucks that were going down a back road to deliver the plates of food we brought and packs of water.

I have never in my life seen such tragedy. I can’t even describe to you in words what we saw. There were no trees down on houses and no cars crumbled. Hardly any building was left standing at all. There was nothing. Only foundation where their houses stood and people searching the rubble for anything they could salvage.

This was the saddest thing I have ever seen in my life. I just can’t make anyone comprehend how bad it was that were not there.

We pulled up to about the twentieth house we had served food at. It was a long drive way that led to what was a house. As I got out of the back of the truck, I saw about 40 people standing on the rubble of what was a two story house before a tornado tore it apart. I didn’t take a picture of it because I didn’t want to offend the family. I gave a little girl a bottle of juice and her mother was standing with her. I asked if this was their house and she said it was not and that the family of 9 that lived there had all survived. They got under their staircase and the staircase fell on top of them, sheltering them from the violent twister.

I couldn’t help but be humbled at the site of it. They had around two truckloads of their belongings that they had recovered and for that, I could tell they were grateful.
It suddenly just hit me.

I have never been to Higdon, Alabama before in my entire life. I barely knew where it was.
Yet here I was, walking up someone’s driveway that I never probably would have walked on, to what used to be someone’s house that I never would have seen.
I didn’t even know these people. But that didn’t matter at all. This week, Alabamians have helped Alabamians. Neighbors have helped neighbors, but most importantly, strangers have helped strangers. They all continue to help everyone clean up and stay strong. I am just in awe of everything that I had to witness in Higdon and if it is worse than that anywhere, I don’t think that I want to see it.

The pictures do not even do it justice.

This is what God had planned for me. I felt that He called me to go out there and He called me to feed His people in need. I felt it when I sat in church Sunday morning. I still feel it right now. I feel so terrible for the people of Tuscaloosa, Sand Mountain, Cullman, and the Phil Campbell area. The storms were so widespread that it’s just incomprehensible. I am so thankful that everyone that I know were spared and unharmed and I pray for those in need and those who lost loved ones.

I encourage you to go out to your community and serve food to someone you don’t know. If you’re too shy or uncomfortable, take a friend with you! Our people need our help and it’s up to us to do it.
God is calling us. It’s our wake up call.

Thankful.

I am very thankful for the smallest things in life.

I am very thankful for a car to drive, parents that are healthy and can provide for me, grandparents to look up to, a loving boyfriend by my side, friends who are the greatest and a roof over my head. I have been reading one of my friend's, Riley Holland's, blog lately. God has richly blessed her beyond measure. And as I had already known that her father had passed away at an earlier time, I never knew her story and memory of him. I have never heard her talk of her memory of him but I do not need to hear her speak of him to know that she really loved and cherished him. It reminds me not only how much I appreciate my father, but also how precious life really is and how I appreciate everything in it.

This past weekend, we went to the beach and I recollected why the beach is one of my favorite places on earth. It is simply amazing to me that God can create something that holds a huge body of water down to the earth. How is He that great!? I got to sit out on the beach one day while I was there from about 9 til 5:30. I just sat there. I thought about how awesome and beautiful it is that the tide comes in, and continues to come in. No matter what. Even if there isn't a boat. Even if the wind isn't blowing. It continues to come in.

This beautiful scenery reminded me of God's faithfulness to his children. He continues to provide. He continues to shower His blessings. No matter what. Even if we disobey. Even if we do not seek His presence as often as we should. His tide continues to roll in.

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful." Colossians 3:15

Decisions, Decisions

We all have a variety of decisions to make everyday.

What to wear, based on the weather

What to eat, based on what we crave

What to do, based on what kind of mood we're in

This morning I picked out shorts, because it's warm outside. I curled my hair because I felt like it. I had to go to a meeting because I have a scholarship worth upholding. I went to class because I feel guilty if I don't go usually and I am blogging now because I feel like it.

Our decisions we make, make us who we are. As cliche as that sounds, it's very true. We chose to either get out of bed and go to work/school or we can sleep in and be lazy and non-productive. Either decision you chose, has an outcome. With your decision, comes consequences.

As human beings, we all want the easy way out. The easy way out is not always the right thing to do. And the right thing to do is not always the easiest either.

We all will do the easiest thing to avoid confrontation. We will lie to get ourselves out of situations, because it's easier to do that than to own up to it, right?

Even though we all do it, it doesn't make it right. Just a tip of the day. Next time you are going to lie your way out of something just so you don't have to feel remorseful, try going and different route and tell the truth! I guarantee you'll feel much better!

Thank you, to all of my readers! 1,300 views and counting!

Keep reading!! I love the support! :)

I Call That Real

Real Women vs. Skinny Sticks

Women were designed to have curves. Period. The End.

These women are REAL. And they work it!

Women like Kim Kardashian And Beyonce.

Not these women. Who starve themselves to look (what they call good) on the runway.

Sure, the wings are beautiful and the bathing suits and lingerie are gorgeous!

But girl, you need to eat!

If you can see the ribs, you need to eat some ribs!

Just sayin'.

Your average, girl next door

Here's a little about me

I would rather be lying on the coast of somewhere beautiful as opposed to well, anything

But, I love biking through Cades Cove on a warm summer day

I really enjoy running. I feel free and I love being in shape

This girl is more like me than anyone I've ever met before

This little boy brightens my day

This place and this guy give me a feeling I definitely cannot explain!

Isaiah 30;21

In spare time, I love to lay out, go to the gym, or go shopping!
One of my favorite things to collect, quotes! I love quotes about
anything and everything. Whenever I find one worth remembering,
I put it in my quote book so that I can flip through and read it again! :)

Passion and satisfaction go hand in hand, and without them, any happiness is only temporary, because there’s nothing to make it last. – The Last Song

Give thanks for the differences in people and recognize the opportunity to see the world from another view. - Unknown

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've imagined. - Henry David Thoreau (My Senior quote)

You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you. -Brian Tracy

The grand essentials in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for. - Joseph Addison

Make it a rule of life never to regret and never to look back. Regret is an apaling waste of energy; you can't build on it. - Katherine Mansfield

We are shaped and fashioned by what we love. - Goethe

Home Sweet Home

Being from 'The South', you know real outdoors beauty when it's right in front of you.
I really do live in one of the prettiest places in North Alabama and I think a lot of people take it for granted. Let's face it, it is truly beautiful where the mountains meet the lakes.
Don't get me wrong, New York City is the second best place to be. You can shop anywhere and there is a Starbucks every third block. The possibilites are endless. Hardly anyone owns a car and takes a taxi or the subway everywhere they go. I mean, that's why 90% of the population is skinny.

There is just something about the sweet-tea-drinking place that refreshes the soul. Ironically, I have lived here 19 years of life and I hate sweet tea. Hey, it's possible!

I love the beach, but there's something exciting about only going once a year.

I love Chicago, but I wouldn't go again unless it was to see Oprah.

I love DC, but I couldn't handle that many politicians in two area codes.

I love Massachusetts. It is beauitful but let's face it, we all sound like hicks to them.

I love love love New York City but could only have a vacation home there!
Everywhere you go, you see people who you can talk to for a few minutes and sure, they're friendly. But people anywhere else, just don't have that "Southern Hospitality"
to them like you find here. They say 'you guys' and we say 'y'all'.
They say 'over there' and we say 'over yunder'.

There is just something peaceful about Alabama.
Something peaceful about coming home

Thanks y'all!

Feb-tastic!

I AM BEYOND READY FOR SUMMER!
With this beautiful weather we've been having, hopefully there won't be many more days of cold weather! Needless to say, I have enjoyed this sneak peek of summer!
Windows down, sunroof open, and music up, loud!

What's playing in my car, pre-summer?

What's My Name - Rihanna feat. Drake

Never Say Never - Justin Beiber (of course)

Grenade - Bruno Mars

Somewhere With You - Kenny Chesney

Teenage Dream - Boyce Avenue

Dog Days Are Over - Florence & The Machine

Firework - Katy Perry

I love all kinds of music, as you can tell.
Playlists are my iPod's best friend.
You can pretty much never know what I'm going to be listening to in my car. My playlists are: country, soul, workout, hip hop, Taylor Swift and Lil Wayne. That pretty much covers it. Anything from Ke$ha to Michael Buble or Beiber to Miranda Lambert.
I like that I am very versatile. It's fun to be put in all different kinds of moods when I get in my car. I love driving for a long time by myself and singing, LOUD. I usually don't even care who sees me driving beside me either! So, if you see me seeing in my car, you'll know that it's one of my favorite things to do! :)

Grammy's Special

I'm not going to waste my time on worst dressed because everyone knows there were plenty worst dressed nominees. However, I had a great time watching the Grammy's even though every time you blinked Lady A was winning another award for Need You Now. Let the song die, please. All in all, I can't choose what they do or wear, only critique it ;)
I LOVE Award shows! Here's the Grammy breakdown.
Everything aside, I LOVE Snooki! She is perfectly dressed for the occasion.

J. Lo killed it! This is exactly what you wear to the Grammy's.

An egg GaGa? Really? And your dancers have on used condoms?
I would not say artistic. Just more GaGa.

Justin Bieber looked good in Dolce and Gabbana. Just sayin’.

Who the heck is Esperanza Spalding? Even though she has collaborated with Prince and has played for President Obama twice, I still have never heard of this jazz player.
My favorite part. John Mayer, Norah Jones and Keith Urban
singing Jolene. It. Was. Beautiful.

Rihanna and Drake were steaming it up!
I’m predicting it to be called Dranna.

Then There Were Two

I was sitting in the doctor’s office yesterday waiting to get my weekly allergy shot, waiting very impatiently. I’ll admit, I don’t have an ounce of patience. That morning, I took Bryant to the doctor and waited an hour. We NEVER wait at our Pediatrician’s office. Needless to say, I wasn’t in the greatest mood by the time I got to the second doctor of the day. I never have to wait over ten minutes to get my allergy shots because of the convenient time that I go around lunch time and Huntsville rush hours. I signed in, and I was glad to see that I was the only one there waiting. It was about 1:30 and although it seemed as if half the nurses were at lunch, there was no sign, or hours posted for their lunch time. I waited for 45 minutes on apparently, the nurses to get back from lunch. During that 45 minutes however, I had an epiphany.

Bryant was playing with toys beside me and calling my name every sixty seconds, “Kayla, look at this!” “Kayla, what is this?” “Kayla, check this out!”
I had noticed them when I walked in but just now paid any attention to the older couple sitting across from me. They appeared to be in their late 60s or early 70s.

Then I noticed what they were reading.

He was reading a thick hard cover book titled, Grunts. Under it, all that I caught a glimpse of was World War II. She, on the other hand, was reading a paperback book titled, God & football. This made me crack a smile. I hoped that I wasn’t staring too long at them for them to notice. Their titles made me think of something very broad in such a short amount of time. World War II may have been around the time this man had been born. Did his father serve during WWII? This topic could have interested him but also could have affected his life in some way or another. This also made me realize, you would most likely never see a younger person reading a book about this heavy topic.

As for the lady, her book amused me. Two of my favorite things. God and football. Yet, non-comparatively. This woman was almost a fast forward into my future. Any of my friends could tell you how much I love football! It is a major part of my entertainment. Isn’t it amazing how far women have come? Women started out with not a single right. Now, we can sit anywhere we would like and read “boy” things like football books. I am so glad society has changed for us for the better!

I had no idea who these people were or what they were like. I don’t know if this man has a special connection in his heart to WWII. I don’t know if this woman was religious or whether she even liked football that much. This couple had no idea they would be analyzed in my blog. I just sat down across from them with my Glamour magazine and an open mind and gained more than I realized I would.

I was in a great mood the rest of the day.

Never Say Never

I have had a lot of things on my mind to blog about and instead of choosing just one, I figured I would share them all at once!

I am starting Zumba and staying committed to my workout regime
I wouldn’t wanna be Christina Aguilera right now
I officially turned in my Nursing program application

I am pretty glad that I’m not in Egypt in the mass of hysteria

I officially hate English 102 and I can’t wait for that teacher to have her baby already

Scottsboro, Al really isn’t that bad

I AM going to watch the Justin Beiber movie but I do NOT have Beiber Fever.
I have always loved Walt Whitman and I found out today that he liked to be naked and thought that every living thing was as equal to every non-living thing. Needless to say, he was different.
I really despise politics.

My career and future job are right around the corner
I haven’t been this glad until now that I stayed home for college

I have picked back up my long lost scrapbooking hobby

I am still searching for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift

I have new obsessions: Pretty Little Liars and Off the Map

Whew.

Xoxo

After my long weekend in Tuscaloosa with my best friend, Maghen Olivia and my favorite person, Tysce Green, I have much to catch up on. We went to the basketball game and told LSU to “Geaux home!”. My first Lakeside experience with Maghen ended up being delicious and we also ran into the lovely Sarah Ann Hoge! It was a great weekend with the greatest people, none the less. I have to start writing my English paper that’s due in eight days and I need to be reading my New Testament religion book. But you know what?

I’d rather blog.

Not only does this week’s Celeb of the Week star on one of my favorite television shows, Gossip Girl, she also has a new leading role in The Roomate.
Leighton Marissa Claire Meester is a very hot, glam, successful actress born April 9, 1986 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Although you may know her from GG, her first acting role on a tv program was on NBC's Law & Order in 1999. Leighton has also appeared in shows like Surface, Entourage, CSI: Miami, 8 Simple Rules, 24, 7th Heaven, and House. She moved with her family to New York City and soon after began working as a model with Wilhelmina, booking a Ralph Lauren campaign shot! Out of everything, of course, her character Blair Waldorf has definitely been her spectacular rise to stardom. She has even stated in interviews that she identifies with Blair "on every level, in one way or another."

I bet you didn't know that:
  • She currently resides in New York.
  • Has an older brother, Douglas Meester and a younger brother named Lex.
  • She enjoys singing, and even sang in the movie "Drive Thru".
  • She is naturally blonde but dyed her hair brown for the role of Blair Waldorf in "Gossip Girl". Stay brunette, Leighton.
  • Named one of People Magazines' 100 Most Beautiful in 2008.
  • Ranked #48 on the Maxim magazine Hot 100 of 2008 list.
  • Attended Beverly Hills High School in Beverly Hills, California. Very Blair-like.
  • Named Celeb of the Week by Kayla Kennamer!

Don’t miss Gossip Girl tonight at 8 on the CW!!!

Living by Faith

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11;1

Your faith will be tried.
We are all different and we will be tried in many different ways and at different points in our lives. You have to hold steadfast to God’s word.
Why would God give us faith if we did not need it? He knows that we will be tried and we all will need it in some way or another, Life will get dark and you could walk down the wrong path and lose your way. I know that I have!

We are not promised that all of our day will be happy and trouble free. He gives us the power of faith for the tribulations that he foresees we will all go through. He knows everything we will do before we do it. Our blessings can be trials of faith, also. Riches are blessings of prosperity and can be very beneficial in life to everyone. But what if we get so wrapped up in this world we live in that we lose our way? We will lose our faith if we become accustomed to worldly things. We will all face affliction and have many burdens, some more than others. All children of God will have to face things that they had rather not. Some of us just have worse burdens or afflictions. That’s why it’s so important to keep your faith.

Pray.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”
Romans 10:17

Double Trouble

If you can’t already tell, I am beyond ready for the rest of my life. Talking about my future on my blog makes me very excited for everything God has in store for me. Getting my RN and getting a really good job in Huntsville, hopefully! And yes, getting married and having kids! Trust me, I will be extremely thankful for God granting me the wonderful pleasure of having kids. I want at least one of each, boy and girl. Although little boys are cute, I hope and pray that my first little one is precious little girl! Good gracious, are we in for it, Tysce Leverl.

If he is anything like Tysce, we are in for a ride!

We will have such a problem with those terrible terrible twos.
We will have to buy stock in Band-Aid.
His Papaw will teach him how to use a sling shot to break Mommy’s flower pots when he is 3.
He will go to his grandparents’ houses and come back spoiled rotten.
He will wear Vineyard Vines and Polo Ralph Lauren everyday to school.
He will have the best baseball glove and play catch with his Daddy until he is sick of it.
He’ll also come home everyday with mud stained khakis.
He will go to Kindergarten and cry for his Mommy!
He will be in a tree stand, with all of his Under Armour apparel, by the age of 5 if not before.
He’ll be very athletic and play point guard in basketball.
He will be very competitive.
He will hate shopping but never complain.
He will be so tiny but then hit a growth spurt when he hits his teens.
He will break every girl’s heart that he comes across until he finds the one to spend forever with!

If she is anything like me, we’re in for it.

Her “terrible’s” will be terrible three’s, instead of two’s.
She will sing really loud in church without even knowing the words. Just a solid tune.
She will have every Barbie doll and accessory known to Barbie World, but Mommy will probably have more fun with them than she will!
She will have a coordinating hair bow for all of her name brand outfits.
She will be hospitalized for every little reason imaginable.
She will be extremely tiny but the fastest one on the softball team.
She will have a feisty attitude.
She will go to Kindergarten and tell Mommy “There’s no crying in Kindergarten, Mom”.
She’ll teach herself how to ride a bike.
She will cut her hair at school by the first grade.
She will have two scars from surgical wounds by the time she’s six.
She will chase all of the boys on the playground, but never fall down because she won’t like mud.
She will be the shortest in her class for well, ever
She will get her heart broken and I will comfort her.
She will become a teenager and think I’m stupid and it will break my heart.
Then, I’ll call my Mom and apologize for everything, again

Celeb Weekly

Almost every single night I watch E! to watch all the latest, funniest, weirdest, most outrageous celebrity ‘oh-my-God’s, over the top parties, and ‘Did she really just do that?’ moments. It is extremely entertaining to me. So I’ve decided that I am going to start picking a weekly person who I find very interesting. I’m calling it, Celeb Weekly.
Some of my favorite older movies like Hope Floats and Miss Congeniality both star an elegant, brown-headed lady who really knows her stuff! Sandra Annette Bullock was born July 26, 1964 in a Virginia suburb of Washington, DC, to a German opera singer and a voice teacher. Her family moved back to the Washington area when she was a teenager. She went to East Carolina University in NC where she studied acting. She then moved to New York to pursue a career on the stage.

In my opinion, her best role ever was playing Leigh Tuohy in The Blind Side. She looks amazing with blonde hair!

I bet you didn’t know:

Sandra was chosen by People (USA) magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world in 1996.

While working on Two if By Sea (1996), discovered she is highly allergic to horses. Which her and I have in common.

Graduated from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia in 1982. She was a cheerleader.

She was voted "Most Likely To Brighten Up Your Day" by her high school class.

Was considered for the lead in Runaway Bride in 1999.

She is fluent in German.

Her favorite perfume is Dune, by Christian Dior.

Known for her generous donations, she donated $1 million to the American Red Cross after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in 2001. Did the same, again donating $1 million to the Red Cross, after the tsunami- disaster in Asia in 2004. She again donated $1 million, this time to Doctors Without Borders, after the 2010 Haiti earthquake.

Has designed special seat-belts so her pet dogs, Ruby and Poppy, can ride safely in her car.

Named person of the year for 2010 by People Magazine.

Named Celeb of the Week by Kayla Kennamer!
